Clues in Colorado , Arizona and Texas

From: Brooks / Devere (campana@quik.com) | Date: 2001-01-01 09:00:33 UTC-07:00
Started placing boxes in July and I am just now posting clues. Note: more boxes to come in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.

Hueco Tanks Texas 7-11-2000
End of paved road on North Mountain. From last covered pick-nick area 20* NE to large white rock, approx 30 paces. 40* NE to first large oak, approx 50 paces. From large flat rock due south 8 paces. Under rock on slab with small tree growing out.

Hueco Tanks Texas 7-11-2000
If one climbs the south side of North Mountain; follows one of the easy routes at the end of the paved road (all 5.4 to 5.6 stuff) they lead to a large amphitheatre that has a huge oak in it. The amphitheatre is accessible from all directions. In a hueco (natural hole-as is the area) 14 paces from the old oak is a box covered by a rock. Note: access to this area requires some rock climbing.

Andrews Lake Colorado 7-13-2000 (South of Silverton)
Follow the trail at the end of the paved path on the south side of the lake. Hike approx 5 minutes up the ridge. At the first switch back , heading approx 250* SW follow ridge to outcropping of limestone's trending 300* NW. At the end of the ridge under a pile of rocks in a hollow log.

East Saguaro National Park Arizona 12-24-2000
Thirty minutes on the Tanque Verde Trail to a saddle with the first panoramic view that looks east and west. Follow ridge of saddle 230* SW approx 40 paces to first grouping of small rocks. Approx 40 paces. In a crack next to a three foot Saguaro.

Franklin Mountains Texas 12-28-2000

BRAVO, BRAVO...... keep up the hard work.......

Don't be shy about getting your clues posted on the eGroup talk list as soon as you can after they are placed. One never knows who will miss the opportuntity of finding your boxes because they didn't know they exsisted...

Again, great job...

Great advice, Jay! What seemed like good reasons to hold back the
clues for the Buck Hollow box I planted back in October, turned into
a missed opportunity for you. Thanks for your addition to this great
trail and for the nudge to get my clues posted.

Kathy

Note the clues in Texas are in the El Paso Area and the Arizona clue is in the Tucson area.
Thanks

No, sorry, used to have an import business for ceramic bells from Chile,
and called it Campanas. Name sort of stuck.
